The NAACP Legal Defense Fund (LDF) has released “Redrawing the Lines: The Impact of Redistricting on African-American Political Power” — a public education tool that provides an overview of redistricting and details the central role of the Voting Rights Act in protecting minority voting rights during the process. The palm card is part of LDF’s Redrawing the Lines campaign, which aims to promote broad participation in the current round of redistricting. Click here to download a copy.
LDF’s campaign also includes a comprehensive manual, produced with MALDEF and AAJC, that provides the legal and policy framework for redistricting. A copy of that manual can be downloaded here. In addition, the campaign also features a 3-minute public education video produced by award-winning cinematographer Cliff Charles.
