Nelson Previews Supreme Court's Fall 2014 Term

LDF’s Janai Nelson, along with former Acting Solicitor General Neal Katyal and other legal scholars previewed the 2014-2015 Supreme Court term. Among the cases they discussed were racial gerrymandering of congressional districts (also discussed in The National Law Journal,)  threatening statements on Facebook, whistleblower protections, and the religious liberty of prisoners. The panelists also briefly reviewed cases from the 2013-14 docket.

Recently, LDF announced that John Paul Schnapper-Casteras has joined the organization as Special Counsel for Appellate and Supreme Court Advocacy.

In this newly created role, Schnapper-Casteras, known as JP, will work with LDF attorneys on all aspects of civil rights litigation, particularly strategic development and preparation of appellate and Supreme Court briefs.
