Sunday’s Apollo Uptown Hall event, “Hear Our Voices, Count Our Votes: MLK’s March Continues,” marked King’s legacy and the 50 years since the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965. LDF Associate Director-Counsel Janai Nelson was a panelist, along with Dante Barry of Million Hoodies, at the annual event hosted at by Brian Lehrer of WNYC Radio and Melissa Harris-Perry of MSNBC at the Apollo Theater.
