DOJ Report on Ferguson, IranUS Negotiations, Jim Crow & Urban.. (II)

“The Department of Justice recently released a comprehensive report on the practices of the Ferguson Police Department. What were the report’s conclusions? Much has been made of the relationship between racism & urban development through much of 20th century America, but what about the ways in which segregation was found to be profitable. Iran – United States negotiations were undermined when 47 Republican senators sent a letter to Iran detailing their opposition to the negotiation process. What gave rise to this unprecedented action on the part of these legislators? The Global African host Bill Fletcher examines these issues with Monique Dixon, [Senior Policy Counsel for Criminal Justice and State Education Initiative] at the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, Rev. Graylan Hagler, pastor at Plymouth Congregational United Church of Christ in Washington D.C., and N.D.B. Connolly, Assistant Professor of History at Johns Hopkins University.”
