LDF Director-Counsel Sherrilyn Ifill called on school districts today to reject harsh practices in schools that push children who pose disciplinary problems into the criminal justice system. In Politico, Ifill chided school districts that have become “increasingly dependent on law enforcement to punish students” for behavior that would normally be subject to school discipline.
