 Devil in the GroveGilbert King’s riveting account of Thurgood Marshall and other LDF attorneys efforts to obtain justice for four African Americans wrongly accused of rape in 1949 Florida was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for General Non-Fiction.  The Pulitzer Prize Board described Devil in the Grove: Thurgood Marshall, the Groveland Boys, and the Dawn of a New America, as “a richly detailed chronicle of racial injustice in the Florida town of Groveland . . . drawing a civil rights crusader, and eventual Supreme Court Justice, into the legal battle.
