V. Renée Cutting, Chief Development Officer of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund,

V. Renée Cutting, Chief Development Officer of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, Inc., is responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies to advance LDF’s mission.

Renée has over 18 years of fundraising experience and has held leadership positions in development at national and international organizations. Prior to LDF, Renée served as Chief Development Officer of Horizons National, an education nonprofit operating programs in 15 states across the country. In this position she helped build the development department’s infrastructure, increase and diversify revenues, and expand Horizons’ national visibility. Previously, Renée served as Director of Development at the Mount Sinai Medical Center and Ralph Lauren Center for Cancer Care and Prevention, and as the Director of Major Gifts at The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. In these roles, Renée established a track record of formulating successful development strategies, and securing leadership gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations. Before her career in development, Renée was an English Instructor at Phillips Exeter and a Harvard University Administrative Fellow at the Division of Public Health Practice.

Renée holds a Master’s degree in Education from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and American Literature from New York University.
