On January 21, NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund (LDF) staff and attorneys attended the Women’s Marches in New York City and Washington, D.C., proudly joining the international community in marching in support of the principles of equality and justice that power our collective dream of a better America for all. We will continue to fight against discrimination and for equal justice and opportunity as we have done for more than 75 years.

LDF Associate Director-Counsel Janai Nelson participated in a panel discussion following the New York March entitled, “Where Do We Go From Here and How?” The lively panel, also featuring Octavia Lewis, MPA of the Center for Excellence for Transgender Health and Cidra Sebastien, Associate Executive Director at Brotherhood/Sister Sol, discussed what activism really means and where we go from here in the wake of the 2016 presidential election and the installation of a new administration.
