Loretta Lynch's Congressional Hearing for Attorney General

Loretta Lynch has waited longer than any other Attorney General nominee in the past 30 years. Her confirmation is being held up by Senator Majority Leader Mitch McConnell over a controversial provision in an anti-human trafficking bill that will prevent women who have been trafficked from using their restitution funds to seek medical abortions for unwanted pregnancies.

With the Senate headed into a 2 week recess, the issue of her confirmation has never been more urgent.

Here is what you can do:

  • Call: Senator McConnell 866-338-5720 and tell him it is time to confirm Loretta Lynch for AG.

  • Advocate: Look up your Senators for your state and reach out to them by phone or email. Tell them we can’t go without leadership at the DOJ.

  • Join: Tweet at your representatives or tweet out your support for Loretta Lynch by using the hashtag “#ConfirmLynch”

  • Educate: Tell your networks about the delay in the Attorney General’s confirmation and ask them to join in supporting her.

If confirmed, Loretta Lynch would be the first African-American woman to serve as Attorney General. The Senate is passing up on an extremely qualified candidate with a proven track record in criminal justice at a crucial moment in time (Women’s History Month.) We cannot let this nomination pass us by. Help us #ConfirmLynch today!
