In a segment on PBS Newshour, LDF President and Director-Counsel Sherrilyn Ifill called for answers in the police shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown, who died a day before he was due to start his first day of college

“There’s a local story that needs to come out. But there’s also a national story,” Ifill said, referring to recent incidents of police involved shootings and abuse of unarmed African Americans, including Eric Garner of Staten Island, NY who died on July 17 in a police chokehold. “We are a nation of laws and we want police officers to be accountable to the law.”
