Letter offers support of Council Bill (“CB”) 20-0626 and further measures to alleviate the water affordability crisis in Baltimore

LDF Senior Counsel and Thurgood Marshall Institute Researcher Coty Montag testified today in support of Baltimore’s Water Accountability and Equity Act Modifications Bill (CB 20-0626). The bill includes measures to alleviate Baltimore’s water affordability crisis and ensure that all residents are treated fairly. CB 20-0626 would cap water bills at 3% with credits for low-income residents and create stronger, realistic timelines for implementing the Water Accountability and Equity Act.
