The Coronavirus, Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act was designed to support families whose lives were swiftly upturned by stay-at-home orders and business who are trying to stay afloat while navigating this crisis. The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), a provision within the CARES Act, could be the lifeline that many business of color need. Communities of color and businesses owned by people of color are being hit hardest. To help, LDF developed a guide to understanding the CARES Act and PPP for small business owners who are in need of federal aide.
