Zahra is a Policy and Research Associate for the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF). Prior to joining LDF, Zahra served as a Policy and Outreach Coordinator for the Poverty to Prosperity Team at the Center for American Progress. At the Center for American Progress, she worked on a diverse portfolio of issues including housing, tax reform, access to food, and barriers to reentry. She has also worked as a Policy and Communications Associate at the National Black Leadership Commission on AIDs.
A native of New Jersey, Zahra received her bachelor’s degree in Africana Studies from the University of Pennsylvania.
