Sparky Abraham joins the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. as an Economic Policy Fellow. Before joining LDF, Sparky was an Honors Attorney in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Office of Enforcement. Between 2014 and 2016 Sparky worked as an Equal Justice Works Fellow at Housing and Economic Rights Advocates in Oakland, CA, representing service members and veterans with issues relating to consumer financial products, including foreclosure, debt collection, credit reporting, medical debt, and student loans.
Sparky received his J.D. from Yale Law School in 2014. During law school, Sparky served as the student director of the Mortgage Foreclosure Litigation Clinic and won the Stephen J. Massey Prize for exemplary work on behalf of clients. He also worked on for Children’s Rights and the National Institute of Military Justice, where he served as an organizational observer of military commission hearings at Guantánamo Bay.
