The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc.’s work is focused on cases involving issues of racial justice. This focus is designed to ensure the broadest impact from our work and to fulfill our mission. With the exception of our capital defense representation, we typically handle cases that affect broad classes of people, not those affecting only an individual, and that seek to further or defend critical legal protections for African-Americans. Our decision not to accept a particular case does not reflect any assessment about the merits of the individual claims.
