Ryan Downer joined LDF’s Economic Justice Practice as a Skadden Fellow in September of 2009. His fellowship project focuses on combating source of income discrimination in the rental housing market through the enforcement of relevant state and local laws. Prior to starting his fellowship, Mr. Downer clerked for Judge Martha Craig Daughtrey on the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.
He graduated cum laude from New York University School of Law in 2008, where he was a Root-Tilden-Kern Scholar and an Articles Editor on the Law Review. Mr. Downer received an A.B. from Harvard University in 2004 and worked for a year as a mediator with the Massachusetts state attorney general’s office. He is also a proud native of Baltimore, MD.
