The NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund announced today that it has named Sherrilyn Ifill its new president and director-counsel.
Ifill, who will start her new position in January, is a law professor and the author of On the Courthouse Lawn: Confronting the Legacy of Lynching in the 21st Century [2]. She has also made regular television and radio appearances to discuss politics, not much unlike her older cousin [3] PBS correspondent Gwen Ifill.
