NAACP LDF and six other leading civil rights and human rights organization today sent an open letter to Republican National Committee Chair Reince Priebus calling for him to repudiate the Values Voter Summit based on its sponsoring groups' virulent attacks on the LGBT community. Scheduled speakers at this year’s event, which begins this Thursday in Washington, include Republican Party members Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-LA) and Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-Minn.)

LDF Joins Coalition of Civil Rights Organizations Applauding DOJ's National Initiative for Building Community Trust and Justice9/23/14
Today LDF joined with a broad coalition of civil rights organizations to applaud the launch of the Department of Justice's National Initiative for Building Community Trust and Justice. The initiative will enlist a team of criminal justice researchers to study racial bias in law enforcement in five U.S. cities and will focus on training to reduce bias and ensure fairness in law enforcement.
Janai Nelson, along with a host of other legal scholars, previewed the Supreme Court's upcoming October term at the American Constitution Society.
