The U.S. Supreme Court heard arguments today in Schuette v. Coalition to Defend Affirmative Action, a challenge to Michigan's Proposal 2. Mark Rosenbaum, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union, argued the case before the court.
The New York Times' Editorial Board writes a vigorous piece in today's paper that charges Prop 2 in Michigan as "impermissibly alter[ing] the political process that determines admissions policies in a way that places special burdens on racial minorities."
On Wednesday, LDF's Criminal Justice team traveled to Cincinnati to hear Vincent Southerland argue for prisoners serving unfair sentences under the racially biased and discredited 100:1 crack/powder sentencing disparity.
