LDF Joins Coalition of Civil Rights Organizations Applauding DOJ's National Initiative for Building Community Trust and Justice9/23/14
Today LDF joined with a broad coalition of civil rights organizations to applaud the launch of the Department of Justice's National Initiative for Building Community Trust and Justice. The initiative will enlist a team of criminal justice researchers to study racial bias in law enforcement in five U.S. cities and will focus on training to reduce bias and ensure fairness in law enforcement.
Janai Nelson, along with a host of other legal scholars, previewed the Supreme Court's upcoming October term at the American Constitution Society.

DETROIT – At 8:30 a.m. on Monday, September 22nd, at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Michigan (231 West Lafayette Blvd), Judge Steven W. Rhodes will conduct an evidentiary hearing on a motion for a preliminary injunction to stop water shutoffs in Detroit.
