INFORMATION AND SCHEDULE
The PGA Golf Club features three championship courses, a world-class PGA Center for Golf Learning and Performance, the PGA Museum of Golf, and on-property accommodations at the Hilton Garden Inn and Perfect Drive Villas (Castle Pines and Pine Valley communities). The PGA Golf Club is 45 miles north of Palm Beach International Airport at Exit 121 on I-95 and is clearly visible from the interstate. DONATION AND FEES
All participants are expected to make a tax-deductible contribution of no less than $150 to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. This donation will help support the efforts of LDF to fight injustice as it has for the past 70 years. Additionally, each golfing participant is required to pay $150 for trophies, gifts, prizes and food and beverages provided at hospitality sessions and during play on Friday and Saturday, and the Saturday Lunch and Awards Dinner. Please note, you will not be considered registered for the tournament until the minimum donation and fees are received. Please return your form promptly with a contribution of at least $150 per person for donation and $150 per person entry fee ($300 total minimum). We require an attendance fee of $100 for each non-playing spouse and/or guest to cover the cost of hospitality sessions, lunch and the dinner. Payment can be made by credit card or check. Please be sure to return the Tournament Registration Form to NAACP Legal Defense Fund, Attn. Mae Bush.
LODGING AND GOLF PACKAGES
Please be sure to make your room reservation with the Hilton Garden Inn or Perfect Drive Villas and return the Package Reservation Form to the appropriate provider by no later than May 9th. Although we can accommodate a large number of golfers for play, we cannot guarantee the availability of rooms at either venue after the above date. The basic package is for three nights accommodation, three rounds of golf, and three breakfasts. No formal activities will take place before Thursday, June 2nd, but anyone wishing to arrive early is likely to enjoy the company of many other participants who also desire to extend their stay. Just make sure that you check off the appropriate extra-night housing arrangement on the form and indicate the number of nights. Breakfast and golf are not included in the extra-night plans. Please note that the registration/check-in site for those choosing Perfect Drive Golf Villas is the PGA Golf Club. For those choosing the Hilton Garden Inn, please register/check-in at the Hilton Garden Inn.
We will stage the individual competition on Friday, June 3rd and the scramble/captain's choice on Saturday, June 4th. There are separate divisions for men, women, and “super seniors” (males 65 and over). Friday's pairings, with the exception of the women’s division and the championship men's flight, are based on your choice of partners, without regard to flights.* Tourney rounds on Friday are: Championship Men (Wanamaker Course); Men and Super Seniors (Ryder Course) and Women (TBD). The PGA Golf Club professionals will determine Saturday’s scramble pairings. Players must report to the designated course at least 15 minutes before the scheduled tee time.
Thursday or Sunday Optional Round and Tee Times
A practice or optional round is traditionally available on Thursday or Sunday. We recommend that you schedule the optional round for the course to be played in individual competition on Friday. Tee times should be reserved at the time packages are booked. The voucher included in your reservation packet must be presented at the course upon check-in. Call 1-800-800-GOLF to make a tee time for your practice round. Before leaving the registration desk, please check that extra round voucher(s) and breakfast coupons are in the packet.
A full buffet breakfast will be served from 6:00 am. to 8:30 am on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in the Wanamaker Room of the Clubhouse or the Education Center Ballroom. (This includes those staying at the Hilton.) After 8:30 am, breakfast is available in the Champions Grill at the Clubhouse. You must present breakfast coupons to avoid charge. For those arriving before Thursday, breakfast is available from 6:30 am to 10:30 am in the Champions Grill or at the venue of your choice. Breakfast is not included in the extra night plans.
HOSPITALITY AND SPECIAL EVENTS
Thursday, June 2:
Please report to the PGA Museum of Golf at 8:00 pm on Thursday, June 2nd for our opening hospitality and informational event, featuring an open bar and hors d'oeuvres. Tee times, flights, and pairings will be posted in the PGA Golf Club and the Hilton Garden Inn on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.
Friday, June 3:
At 7:30 pm on Friday evening, please report to the PGA Museum of Golf for the Individual Awards Ceremony, raffle and auction. We will also post pairings for Saturday's team competition.
Saturday, June 4:
Lunch following round in Wanamaker Room, 1:00 - 2:30 PM.
At 7:00 pm the Awards Dinner will take place at the Education Center Ballroom.
For the ninth year in a row, Gailon McGowen, Dealer/Principal of Hunterdon BMW will sponsor a Special Hole-in-One Prize of a brand new BMW. Paula Tucker, a Duramed Futures Tour player from Miami, will rejoin us as a special guest. The tourney will also feature a putting tournament, virtual skills competition and long-drive contest at the PGA Center for Golf Learning and Performance. Other activities are under consideration, including a golf clinic for novices. We urge you to take advantage of the PGA Center for Golf Learning and Performance for swing analysis, club fitting, lessons and bio-mechanic assessment and development.
