This Stops Today: NYC Policing Reforms One Year After Eric Garner

Sherrilyn Ifill will be a featured speaker at the upcoming Ford Foundation convening of social justice leaders working to advance civil rights in a changing America. The daylong gathering, "Courting Change: The Road Ahead for Civil Rights," will be held at the foundations New York headquarters on Wednesday, July 17, 2013. It will bring together more than 200 leading figures from civil rights and social justice movements, business, philanthropy, media and the arts to explore the next frontlines of the civil rights movement.
Ms. Ifill's session will be "Bending the Arc: The Supreme Court's Role in Shaping Civil Rights," and will run from 10:15 am to 11:15 am. She will explore what the court's decisions say about its future role in advancing a social justice agenda for the 21st century.
