The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc. (LDF) is celebrating its 70th anniversary and what a wonderful year this has turned out to be.
It was our pleasure to host a 10th anniversary reception on Monday, March 28, 2011, which was followed by a viewing of the wonderful 70th Anniversary video that was produced by award-winning documentary film maker, Thomas Allen Harris, and a stimulating conversation with John Payton, LDF's President and Director-Counsel, and Theodore (Ted) M. Shaw, LDF's immediate past President and Director-Counsel.
This event allowed us all to connect with old friends and make new ones. The reception was one of series of regional programs hosted in the spring of 2011, in an effort to mobilize the newly-formed LDF Alumni Association.
We were pleased to provide an opportunity to celebrate LDF's past accomplishments and share our plans for the future with attendees.
