Legal Defense Fund Appoints New Director of Communications
(New York, NY)—The NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, (LDF) is proud
to announce that Lee Daniels has joined the staff as the new Director of Communications.
Over the past thirty-five years Lee A. Daniels has reported for three of the most
prominent media outlets in American journalism, WGBH-TV in Boston, the Washington
Post, and the New York Times, and has edited The State of Black America, and Opportunity
Journal, the historic publications of one of the nation's major civil rights organizations,
the National Urban League. During his nearly decade of service at the Urban League,
Daniels was also the ghost-writer of its acclaimed weekly syndicated column, "To
Be Equal."
"This is a tremendous addition to the LDF family. We are truly honored to have such
an experienced and seasoned individual at the helm of our communications department,"
said John Payton, President and Director-Counsel of LDF.
